A State College Pennsylvania Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to The Rock Garden B&B, your home away from home in central Pennsylvania. Convenient to the PSU campus and college activities, it is an ideal place to stay while visiting family and friends, cheering on Penn State or simply enjoying the activities and sights the area has to offer.

Located at the base of Mt. Nittany just north of historic Boalsburg, our bed and breakfast offers relaxation in a beautiful country setting while just minutes away from State College. Our farmhouse style home sits on 17 acres in the village of Oak Hall and provides all the amenities of today's busy world yet is refreshingly different  from the typical motel and hotel. We are a smoke free bed and breakfast.

Mt. Nittany and the Tussey Mountain range provide a backdrop of wonderful views to enjoy from every window. Construction of the B&B was completed in 2005 with safety features that sit quietly in the background and allow for complete relaxation. All five guestrooms have a private bath and are unique in their décor and style. Every guest can be accommodated with queen size beds in four of our rooms and two twin beds in our first floor fully ADA compliant room.  The Mt. Nittany and Garden Overlook Rooms offer gorgeous views of Mt. Nittany, the courtyard and our gardens. The Tussey Mountain ridge, as well as our rock garden and nursery, can be enjoyed from the Tussey, Boalsburg and Oak Hall Rooms.

A hearty hot breakfast is served each morning in the formal dining room. Enjoy your breakfast in the dining room, on the wraparound porch or in the gardens. Relax with your morning coffee, afternoon tea, a good book or fine conversation in the great room, garden room, or venture outside to the porch or to the patio. Depending on the season, you can unwind in the gardens while enjoying the fragrance of the flowers and a view of the Centre County landmark, Mt. Nittany, or bask in the dancing firelight of the wood fireplace in the great room.

Create your own garden with The Rock Garden, which sells perennials, alpines and flowering shrubs.  Many varieties of plants are available for alpine troughs, rock gardens, shade gardens and perennial borders. Penn State University sporting events are just a short drive away. Some of the many other activities available to our guests include hiking, fly-fishing, visiting local historic sites, and shopping including antiqueing.  Enjoy a show at the Bryce Jordan Center or the State College Theatre and dine at one of the fine restaurants or eating establishments. Sports bars, microbreweries and wineries can also be found in the immediate Centre County region.

Let us make your stay in Happy Valley memorable.
